PROGRAM

James Whitbourn : “Annelies”

Annelies is a full-length choral work based on The Diary of Anne Frank. The music is by British composer James Whitbourn and the libretto is compiled from the diary by Melanie Challenger. The lyrics consist of translated passages from Frank’s diary and interprets the different chapters of her hiding and eventual capture by the Nazi Regime.

『アンネリーズ』は『アンネの日記』に基づいた14楽章から成る全編合唱作品である。作曲はイギリスの作曲家ジェームズ・ホイットボーン、台本はメラニー・チャレンジャーが日記に基づいて編纂した。歌詞はフランクの日記からの翻訳で構成されており、彼女が潜伏生活を送り、最終的にナチス政権に捕らえられるまでの様々な場面を描いている。
